Supply (not) and demand
Compared to used cars salesmen, liquor salesmen come up a distinct second in the “scummiest salespeople around” contest, but every once in a while, they come up with a doozie.
Turning the TarpificationSat to Tennessee, we see Diageo Brands (faux) pleading with consumers to wait out the current supply shortage of Dickel Whisky No. 8….a shortage they caused by shutting down production to reduce supply. As we see in the article on MSNBC, “Dickel has taken out ads in several newspapers, apologizing for the shortage. The ad blames the situation on ‘an incredible surge in demand for George Dickel No. 8.’”
This reminds the Tarpy yet again of the old adage of the man throwing himself on the mercy of the court to be lenient with him as he is an orphan…while he’s standing trial for his parent’s murder.
