A top official for the Chicago Aviation Department resigned Friday amid an investigation into why Commonwealth Edison delivered a generator to his home during a power outage this week.

Chicago Tribune columnist John Kass reported in Friday’s editions that a ComEd crew delivered the generator Wednesday night to the Far Northwest Side home of Dave Ochal, who long has been an important operative in Mayor Richard Daley’s political organization.
