You know you’re a smarmy dick if…

…you’re a College Republican-looking tool-sack spewing a bunch of divisive uninformed clap-trap about who or what an elitist is. Personally I can’t wait to see the logical legerdemain he’ll need to go through to explain how Governor Palin isn’t an elitist, rather she just needs that $150K worth of clothes to “connect” to her audiences.

My personal favorites:

“You’re an elitist if you’re excited at the prospect of government intervention in the banking system in the aftermath of the sub-prime meltdown.” Guess that makes el Presidente Arbusto an elitist.

“You’re an elitist if you believe Jon Stewart is non-partisan, but Fox News is an outlet for the Republican National Committee.” Jon Stewart has never claimed to be non-partisan, genius.

“You’re an elitist if you worry what the Europeans think of us.” Yes, God forbid others have a good opinion of us.

“You’re an elitist if you know what arugula is but don’t know who Jimmie Johnson is.” I happen to know who both are, and I’m pretty sure you’d still think I’m an elitist.

YHL. HAND.

You know you’re a smarmy dick if you’re an immature, misinformed dope smoking, shiftless college punk majoring in sociology getting his political insights from partisan hacks like Jon Stewart. Barring any one of these factors, you may not be a smarmy dick but are still a loser.

    Oh Snoo, how clever.

Personally in college I preferred bourbon and beer over dope (although I will cop to being an outlier versus my friend).

Didn’t major in sociology (although I do respect the sociologist I know…ethnography is a valuable tool to those of us in the business world.

I read and watch a great deal of different sources to get political insight…I read, as I do every morning the WSJ on the train in, and will either read the Economist or BusinessWeek on the train home…if I’m in the car when they’re on, I’ll listen to Rush or Hannity (who I both disagree with quite often, but do want to hear what they have to say), and I watch Stewart because he is an ENTERTAINER, and does the sharpest political satire today, which used to be the stomping grounds of SNL. Hell, the faux-POTUS ad this week on TDS was just as funny as “You Don’t Know Dick”.
