Simple enough question really. Line people up, and let them go at it. Except it’s not. Prior to seeing this page on ways to board airplanes, I really only knew about two types: Back-to-front (how we board on AA) and random (think the Southwest cattle call).

Interestingly enough, there are a couple others. Having watched the demonstrations, I have to say that Reverse Pyramid is just incredible, and to think that US Air (really) is the only one doing it.

The one thing that this doesn’t really take into account is elite-flier pre-boarding in coach. The legacy carriers are going to have a hard time getting rid of that, it’s a perk we all love and cherish. If that could be solved (first and elite-coach board at once), then there’s some stuff that could be done here.
