How do you board an airplane?

This item was filled under [ AA ]

Simple enough question really. Line people up, and let them go at it. Except it’s not. Prior to seeing this page on ways to board airplanes, I really only knew about two types: Back-to-front (how we board on AA) and random (think the Southwest cattle call).
Interestingly enough, there are a couple others. Having watched the [...]

Southwest hops on the Double EQM Bandwagon

This item was filled under [ AA ]

It shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise, but given Southwest’s history of a more…egalitarian airline, it was still somewhat of a shock to get the email announcing that Southwest was effectively joining the double EQM race to the bottom the legacy carriers announced over the last couple of weeks.
As you may recall, when [...]

American Airlines…as always, behind the times (and their competitors)

This item was filled under [ AA ]

This whole everyone-on-the-double-EQM bandwagon keeps going round and round. As USA Today (really?) points out:
And there is another restriction by some carriers that has rankled some frequent fliers. Kralev writes -– initially –- US Airways, AA and United made their offer valid only on new tickets. That meant the offer did not apply to tickets [...]

American Airlines: AAwesome!

This item was filled under [ AA, AAdvantage ]

Unfortunately I wasn’t able to get all the miles I needed in last year to re-qualify for AAdvantage Platinum due to the cancellation of our Oz trip. Last week, I come home from RSW to find my new AAdvantage Gold card waiting for me. Feh.
I had resolved to starting my latest Platinum Challenge Monday to [...]

Mobile Device Boarding Pass…kinda cool.

This item was filled under [ AA ]

So AA is trialing mobile boarding passes out of a couple airports…I tried it this week (see below) and it was awesome.
The TSA guy just waved my blackberry over a scanner at his station, and the gate agent did the same thing at the gate boarding pass reader, and viola I was on the plane…just [...]

American Way eSubs: You can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave…

This item was filled under [ AA, American Way ]

Since Jim Shahin left American Way, I’ve been finding less and less reason to read it (and the whole moving away from Cover Celebrity taking you around a city was a terrible idea), I finally decided to unsubscribe from their notifications about new articles.
Dutifully I clicked on the unsub link, and was taken to a [...]

AA sock-puppets low-readership blogs to avoid talking about a fired columnist

This item was filled under [ AA ]

So, American Way, let’s rap. You didn’t like my blog post about Jim Shahin probably getting canned. Fair enough. But I’d expect that a tiny ass little blog like mine is pretty insignficant and can safely be ignored…especially since I’m wedded to you anyway as I’m going for my 2nd MM medallion…but sock-puppeting this blog? [...]
