Dear Mr. Tarpy,
We appreciate your recent email to AAdvantage® Customer Service.
At this time I do not have any information advising a change in the drink and food for sale policy. If [...]

New bennie for AA Plat/EXP?

This item was filled under [ AA, AAdvantage ]

I was on AA 4080 tonight, and something very, very odd happened. The F/A offered me a free drink (a real drink, not soft drink) and handed me a snack. Not only was I in coach, I hadn’t paid for this…that’s when the surprise happened, the F/A told me that it was now policy for [...]

American Airlines: New, improved cattle class with 20% more snobbery!

This item was filled under [ AA, AAdvantage ]

God, can AA honestly get any more classist? Now, you can only book certain seats in main cabin (notice how no one calls it economy anymore) if you’re an elite or in Y/B inventory. Now, we all know that for the longest time, you could really only get exit rows ahead of time if you [...]

Thank you for calling American Airlines, press 1 to be bent over…

This item was filled under [ AA, AAdvantage ]

American announced it’s latest regressive fees today, and most of the international upgrade co-pays aren’t terribly surprisingly, but the ball-buster is that it now costs 30,000 miles PLUS $100 to upgrade.
Feh. What’s the point of “free” “mile-based” awards if you need to pay a bucket of cash to get the award as well?

My precious….

This item was filled under [ AA, AAdvantage ]

Look at what came yesterday…my precious…(god, I need to get out more)

The welcome packet was nice; had the card, two Platinum luggage tags (with the 1MM medallion), 8 AApplause certificates, and a rather overly flowery letter regarding my “achievement.”
That being said, I promptly ordered 6 more luggage tags (so as to re-tag everything I own [...]

“Whether you eagerly awaited this achievement or didn’t realize it occurred…”

This item was filled under [ AAdvantage ]

I got a lovely email today from Rob Friedman, President, AAdvantage Marketing Programs informing me that I had just become a millionAAire.

My favorite line is “[w]hether you eagerly awaited this achievement or didn’t realize it occurred…” As a number of people have pointed out (I’m looking at you V and Brett), I should reply that [...]

I’m a millionAAire!

This item was filled under [ AAdvantage ]

Woo woo!
I logged onto AA.com this morning to see this glorious site:

Hello, lifetime Gold status!
If I want to make lifetime Platinum status (2 million program miles), it’ll be a while. I joined AAdvantage on 4/17/98, and earned on average 278.68 AAdvantage miles a day to my first million. If this trend were to hold, I’d [...]
