Here’s this week’s bourbon, W. L. Weller Special Reserve:
Tasting notes: Harsh, harsh start, lots of burn down, and a good warm belly feeling. It’s a keeper.
For this week in Nashville, I got a bottle of George Dickel Cascade Hollow (cask-strength) to test drive this week.
Tasting notes: No harsh smell, no harsh taste, incredibly mild aftertaste. Basically it’s like drinking 1 part bourbon to 10 parts water. But it does have a kick, I definately felt woozy after the first drink.
Looks like 1792 was an OK year…at least for bourbon. Picked up a bottle of 1792 Ridgemont Reserve tonight and took it for a test spin. Strongish start, good body, and nice afterglow….and it’s a pretty cool bottle.
If you went to www.cocktailmatch.com…and you were wanted to have it be a matching service between spirits you like and cocktails to order, then you’d be wrong.

A co-worker of mine visited McMenamin’s Edgefield (after I recommended it after our visit) and brought me back a bottle Hogshead Whisky…it’s so nummy!

And so ends the glorious life of Metra’s Bar Car. At least I can still grab a 24oz can at the Rail Club to get me where I need to go while tracking it up north!
