Holy Fuck, Sarah Palin really IS an idiot

Wow. This is just mind-boggling:

Couric: In preparing for this conversation, a lot of our viewers … and Internet users wanted to know why you did not get a passport until last year. And they wondered if that indicated a lack of interest and curiosity in the world.

Palin: I’m not one of those who maybe came from a background of, you know, kids who perhaps graduate college and their parents give them a passport and give them a backpack and say go off and travel the world.

No, I’ve worked all my life. In fact, I usually had two jobs all my life until I had kids. I was not a part of, I guess, that culture. The way that I have understood the world is through education, through books, through mediums that have provided me a lot of perspective on the world.
-Exclusive: Palin On Foreign Policy

Governor Palin, I’ve got news for you…throughout all of my college experience I too had two jobs to pay tuition and living expenses (*coff* booze money *coff* *coff*)…I certainly didn’t come from a  privileged background either, but I was still able to make it to Ireland and Ecuador by graduation. It’s not elitism to travel the world, it’s the desire to have experiences that allow you to see how others live.

I’m not opposed to people not traveling the world, in fact, I don’t even believe it’s a requirement to be president, but your sneering dismissal of those who do travel as being somehow elitist is both sadly mistaken and a pathetic attempt at pandering to god only knows who.

Kathleen Parker is right Governor, you are clearly out of your league.

How are the Yorkies dealing with the financial crisis?

Old Man Yells at Cloud:

A Skokie man told police a woman with a shopping cart stole more than 100 peaches from a tree in his backyard.

The man, who lives in the 8000 block of Knox Avenue, told police he noticed the theft last week, but was unsure who had taken the fruit until a neighbor told him he had seen a woman in the yard putting peaches into a cart.

The neighbor said the woman left after he yelled at her.

Police had not made an arrest as of Tuesday.

SNL has sucked for a long time, but, honestly, is there anyone as good with topical political satire outside of the Daily Show?

I think not.
